Trouble Shoot

How do I troubleshoot the camera?

If you encounter any issues with your Paper Shoot Camera, don't worry!

We have a few troubleshooting steps you can try first.

Start by removing the batteries but leaving the SD card in the camera board. Connect the camera to a power bank using the provided cable, but not to a PC or laptop. Make sure the filter switch is on the FIRST mode, and then press the shutter. If you hear a capture sound, then the camera board is functioning normally.

Next, check the following:

  • Are you using fully charged rechargeable batteries? Batteries are fully charged when the green light indicator turns off after connecting the board to a power source. (We highly recommend LADDA rechargeable batteries from IKEA).
  • Are you using a standard size SD card or microSD with a standard size adapter?
  • Is the SD card in the larger front metal slot, non-wifi, and not larger than 32GB?
  • Have you reformatted the SD card? (You may refer to our instagram for tutorials).

If you've checked all of these and the issue still persists, please make an appointment with us to come to our office for a review. Our office is open from 10:30AM - 5:00PM (excluding Public Holidays), Mondays to Fridays at 39 Jalan Pemimpin 04-03(A) Tailee Industrial Building, Singapore 577182.

Why are the lights flashing on my camera?

Light flashing on the left only: SD Card Error

Please ensure that you are using a 32 GB standard size SD card/micro SD with adaptor and that the card is inserted in the front larger slot.

Light flashing on the right only: Battery Error

Do ensure that you are using rechargable batteries, that they have been charged fully until the green light indicator on the camera board turns off or via an external battery charger.

Both lights not flashing/no capture sound:

This is likely due to low battery, do give a full charge before usage.

What if you just put in new batteries?

Using rechargeable batteries is strongly recommended, as they have better quality and can maintain their charge for a longer time. Batteries that are just purchased from the store may already be in the "low battery" stage due to shelf time, exposure to sunlight, temperature fluctuations, and other factors.

For optimal performance, we highly recommend using LADDA rechargeable batteries from IKEA. If you are already using rechargeable batteries, it is important to fully charge them for at least 3-4 hours before use.

Operating the camera

Watch the video on how to use and trouble shoot Paper Shoot Camera.

How do I take a picture and use filters?

To snap a shot using your Paper Shoot Camera, simply press the button located at the front of the camera. You will experience a brief pause before the light at the back of the camera flashes once, and the camera capture sound is played.

If you wish to capture a photo using different filter settings, simply use the toggle switch located at the back of the camera. This feature enables you to switch between filter modes, including colour, black and white, sepia, and blue.

How do I take a video/time lapse?

To record a 10-second video on your Paper Shoot Camera, you'll need to connect the camera to a power supply such as a power bank using the USB cable provided. Once connected, toggle the filter view to the 4th setting to switch the mode from photo to video. You can then press the button on the front of the camera to start recording your video, which will last for 10 seconds.

If you'd like to use the time-lapse feature on your camera, you'll follow a similar process. Connect the camera to a power source with the USB cable and toggle the filter view to the 3rd setting to switch to time-lapse mode. Then, simply press the button on the front of the camera to begin recording your time-lapse video.
